With the feel of spring in the air (or at least the feel was in the air a few days ago!) I caught the bug to make fresh fruit smoothies.  Smoothies are an awesome way to give yourself and your kids a great refreshing treat with being able to pack in great nutrients.  My kids love to have ice cream and smoothies are a great alternative.  Even in the mornings, I feel great giving my toddlers this kind of sweet treat!

Today when I started thinking about making a smoothie it was after lunch when I was craving something sweet.  On Monday I had stopped at Sam’s Club and picked up fresh strawberries and raspberries along with a box of Fruti, new all natural fruit bars.  I had recently looked at the package of the “All Natural” fruit bars we can get and they are packed with food coloring.  I had heard about these natural fruit popsicles and had to look them up online to see what I could find.  I was beyond excited to find a Non-GMO verified natural fruit bar (that is so very affordable!)

Chucks O’ Fruti Facts:

  • They are PREMIUM ACTUAL FRUIT bars.  The Natural Fruit Corporation takes pride in selecting premium fresh fruit from around the world for their frozen fruit bars.

  • Fruti’s frozen fruit bars contain more fruit than any other ingredient.

  • The natural popsicles contain no added colors or flavors.  You will not find high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) in them. Although there is some added sugar, the majority of sugar comes naturally from the premium fruit ingredients.

  • Because as a company they care about purity, the Fruti bars are now verified by the Non-GMO Project!  That is HUGE!  I have the confidence in feeding them to my family that they take the extra care to avoid GMO ingredients.  To find out more about what Gentecially Modified Ingredients (GMO) are, check out my article here.

Needless to say when I stopped at our local Sam’s Club, I quickly snatched up a box!  The box contains 16 bars, four of each flavor: Pina Colada, Strawberry, Caribbean Mix, and Pineapple.  The box was just under $5.00 which is a huge steal!  I love that they are packaged in four smaller boxes so you can fit them into the freezer a bit easier. You can check out an upcoming Fruti and yogurt demo at your local Sam’s Club on 5/13.

So with some really fun fruit bars in the freezer, I thought they would make some really amazing smoothie drink mixes!  I was so right!

Yogurt & Fruti Bar Smoothie Recipes

Ingredients

  • 2 – Chucks’ O Fruti Bars (I used the Pina Colada)
  • 2 – Small Cups of Greek Yogurt
  • 1- Cup of Sliced Strawberries
  • 1- Cup of Raspberries

Directions

Slice and pit your strawberries.  Wash both your raspberries and strawberries.  I use my food processor but a blender would work the same.  Add your berries into your container.  Remove the Fruti bars from the wooden stick and chop into three to four pieces.  Add it to your container.  Add in your Greek yogurt and pulse several times until you reach your desired consistency.  Enjoy!
